Terms of Service

Tany, by Tandelion Technologies — Last updated August 16, 2026

These terms govern your use of Tany, an iOS app built by Tandelion Technologies. By using the app, you agree to these terms. If you are under 18, please review these terms with a parent or teacher.

What Tany is

Tany tracks real satellites and space debris using public orbital data, and lets students design a rocket and satellite, place them in a launch queue, and see them appear in the app once "launched." The rocket and satellite building experience is for education and fun — it does not represent a real physical launch.

Acceptable use

When using Tany, you agree not to:

We use an automated filter on names and on "Ask Tany" chat messages to catch obviously inappropriate content, but no filter is perfect — please report anything that slips through using the contact details below.

"Ask Tany" AI chat

Tany's chat feature is powered by a third-party AI model and is restricted to space- and science-related topics. Responses are generated automatically and, while we've taken steps to keep them accurate and age-appropriate, they may occasionally be incomplete or mistaken. Tany is not a substitute for a teacher, textbook, or professional advice, and is not intended to complete homework or assignments on a student's behalf.

In-app purchase ("Tany Pro")

The launch queue & scheduled Launch Days

Rockets and satellites join a shared queue and are "launched" together on a periodic, scheduled Launch Day, rather than instantly — this is a game mechanic meant to feel like a real launch schedule, not an actual aerospace operation.

Orbital tracking data

Real satellite and debris positions shown in the app are estimates derived from publicly available orbital data (via CelesTrak) using standard orbital mechanics. This data can be delayed, incomplete, or occasionally inaccurate, and should not be relied on for any safety-critical, navigational, or operational purpose.

Intellectual property

The Tany app, its design, and its original content are owned by Tandelion Technologies. Names and creative choices you submit (rocket names, satellite names, nicknames) remain associated with your account but may be displayed publicly within the app as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

Tany is provided "as is," for educational and entertainment purposes, without warranties of any kind. Tandelion Technologies is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time; the "Last updated" date above will reflect the latest version. Continued use of the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
